TOP TOURNAMENT CARDS REAPPEAR IN ‘YU-GI-OH! DUEL DEVASTATOR’

On October 11, Konami will release the all-Ultra-Rare Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Devastator boxed set, featuring new alternate art for popular cards and a new Ultra Rare monster card.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Devastator is intended for players who want some of the game’s more popular cards for their Extra Deck and Side Deck. This boxed set comes with a total of 56 Ultra Rare cards, including 20 Extra Deck monsters, 30 Side Deck cards, and 6 Ultra Rare monsters. The cards for the set were chosen based on the top winning tournament decks from the past year, and will include cards like Saryuja Skull Dread, Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier, Abyss Dweller, Tornado Dragon, Inspector Boarder, Spell Canceller, Solemn Strike, Super Polymerization, Typhoon, and Wave-Motion Cannon.

Five of the Ultra Rare monsters are variant versions of cards with new artwork: Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit, Ghost Reaper & Winter Cherries, Ghost Bell & Haunted Mansion, and Ghost Sister & Spooky Dogwood. The sixth card is a brand new Ultra Rare monster whose identity has not yet been revealed, but it will feature two Special Summoning abilities.

Each set will also have four out of 12 possible Field Center cards. Six of the cards will have new monster artwork from the Duel Devastator set, while the other six will depict characters from the original Yu-Gi-Oh! series: Yugi, Kaiba, Joey, Pegasus, Mai, and Ishizu.

The cards will be packaged in a heavy-duty storage box featuring the new monster artwork. MSRP is $39.99.

Duel Devastator will release about a month after the Rising Rampage Special Edition set (see “‘Rising Rampage’ Makes Waves in ‘Yu-Gi-Oh!’ TCG’”).

UFS: Yu Yu Hakusho incoming !

The next expansion for Jasco’s Universal Fight System (UFS) will be based on the anime Yu Yu Hakusho, the company announced. The anime follows the exploits of Spirit Detective Yusuke Urameshi as he protects the human world from the demons and spirits from the underworld.

UFS: Yu Yu Hakusho will contain 81 cards of different rarities. While card details are limited at the moment, the set is said to feature the characters of Yusuke Urameshi, Kasuma Kuwabara, Kurama, Hiei, Botan, Byakko, Suzaku, and Rando.

MSRP and release date have not been announced at this time.

Yu Yu Hakusho is a venerable property which first appeared in the U.S. in 2001 via FUNimation (see “FUNimation Seeks Follow-Up to DBZ”), and quickly made its way onto Cartoon Network (see “New Anime Series on Cartoon Network”). It was a big hit both in Japan and in the U.S., and was the basis for a TCG from Score in the early 00s (see “Score Plans Two-Prong Push for Yu-Yu CCG”).

Jasco released UFS: Street Fighter vs. Darkstalkers late last year (see “’Street Fighter Vs. Darkstalkers’ Comes to ‘UFS’”, and Seventh Cross and SoulCalibur VI earlier this year.

JAPANESE ALTERNATE-ART PLANESWALKERS

War of the Spark is all about Planeswalkers. With 36 different characters represented, the set truly showcases an all-out war for the fate of the Multiverse being fought on Ravnica.

We wanted to do something special to commemorate this event in Japan, so we worked with Japanese artists to create alternate-art versions of every planeswalker in the set. All 36 planeswalkers in War of the Spark were reimagined beautifully by artists well-known throughout Japan, including Yoshitaka Amano!

These alternate versions appear randomly in Japanese-language War of the Spark boosters, replacing the regular version of the planeswalker in the pack 50% of the time. We’ve made Japanese boosters available to retailers around the world, so you can find them nearby wherever you live.

These cards will also be available in Wizards Play Network promo packs during the Core Set 2020 play season, appearing in roughly 1:4 of packs. The alternate-art planeswalkers have only been printed in Japanese, but will appear in promo packs around the world.

Jasco Games, in partnership with Level 99 Games, is excited to announce the next license to be included in the Universal Fighting System CCG: Seventh Cross! – Releasing May 24!

After taking the delayed release of SoulCalibur VI into consideration, we have decided to push back the release of Seventh Cross two weeks from May 10 to May 24, to better pace the 2019 UFS release schedule and not put the pressure of immediate back-to-back releases on the UFS community.

Seventh Cross is an 88 card booster-only expansion set with a few surprises in store that will give UFS players new options and strategies to utilize and combat.  Stay tuned next week for important Pre-Order information and the beginning of the Seventh Cross Set Preview!

The year is 1929, in a world much like our own…

An enigmatic organization known only as “The Church” has kept the world safe from magic and monsters for centuries, allowing culture and civilization to flourish.

In the shadows, an ancient magic empire stirs, seeking to revive the lost craft and unleash mayhem once again upon humanity.

Powerful Church Inquisitors seek out monsters and put them down in the name of order and duty using a vast array of mystical arcana, bizarre machines, and medieval implements, sometimes even unleashing their own monstrous nature to gain new abilities and turn the tide of battle in their favor.

The Seventh Cross CCG includes the following playable characters, each with their own monstrous 2nd form:

  • Celinka
  • D’Janette
  • Eugenia
  • Geoffrey
  • Remiliss
  • Taisei
  • Tournelouse
  • Zsolt
