Square Enix will release Final Fantasy Trading Card Game: Opus IX Collection on July 19.

The Final Fantasy TCG: Opus IX Booster -Lords and Chaos set will include cards of the franchise’s most iconic Boss characters from Final Fantasy IV, VI, VII, XIV, XIV Morbius Final Fantasy and more. Original, exclusive art from Final Fantasy series artists will be included in this booster. The set will include 16 full art cards. The set includes 48 Common, 36 Rare, 26 Hero, 14 Legend, and 140 Premium cards. Each booster pack includes 12 cards, inclusive of 1 Premium foil card.  For collectors, the Buy-A-Box program will include a full art promo featuring Final Fantasy XIV antagonist Nael van Darnus.

The Final Fantasy TCG: Opus IX Pre-Release Kit will be available for pre-release events held from Saturday July 13 – Friday July 19. The kit will include 6 Opus IX booster packs and two exclusive items: a Gunslinger PR-053 card and card sleeves.

K.4.5 To “freeze” a card is to create the assigned rule effect “That card does not ready during the next
Ready Step.”

K.4.5.1 A “frozen” card is any card with this effect assigned to it.

JAPANESE ALTERNATE-ART PLANESWALKERS

War of the Spark is all about Planeswalkers. With 36 different characters represented, the set truly showcases an all-out war for the fate of the Multiverse being fought on Ravnica.

We wanted to do something special to commemorate this event in Japan, so we worked with Japanese artists to create alternate-art versions of every planeswalker in the set. All 36 planeswalkers in War of the Spark were reimagined beautifully by artists well-known throughout Japan, including Yoshitaka Amano!

These alternate versions appear randomly in Japanese-language War of the Spark boosters, replacing the regular version of the planeswalker in the pack 50% of the time. We’ve made Japanese boosters available to retailers around the world, so you can find them nearby wherever you live.

These cards will also be available in Wizards Play Network promo packs during the Core Set 2020 play season, appearing in roughly 1:4 of packs. The alternate-art planeswalkers have only been printed in Japanese, but will appear in promo packs around the world.

Jasco Games, in partnership with Level 99 Games, is excited to announce the next license to be included in the Universal Fighting System CCG: Seventh Cross! – Releasing May 24!

After taking the delayed release of SoulCalibur VI into consideration, we have decided to push back the release of Seventh Cross two weeks from May 10 to May 24, to better pace the 2019 UFS release schedule and not put the pressure of immediate back-to-back releases on the UFS community.

Seventh Cross is an 88 card booster-only expansion set with a few surprises in store that will give UFS players new options and strategies to utilize and combat.  Stay tuned next week for important Pre-Order information and the beginning of the Seventh Cross Set Preview!

Launching Friday, July 12, 2019, Battles of Legend: Hero’s Revenge is a booster set packed with never-before-released cards from previous Yu-Gi-Oh! anime and manga series coming to the Yu-Gi-Oh! 36 Planeswalkers confirmed in War of the Spark Magic: The Gathering set

What’s more, each of these 36 Planeswalkers will have a planeswalker card in War of the Spark. (The card art will be different, though—in fact, these stained-glass versions aren’t appearing on cards at all!) You’ll have to wait for War of the Spark previews in April to see the new cards, but each booster pack will contain a planeswalker so you should have no trouble getting your hands on them when the set is released.

Each day brings us closer to Nicol Bolas’s endgame, but until all those candles are snuffed out, we can at least admire the craftsmanship that went into these pretty windows.

UNCOVER THE AGENTS OF NICOL BOLAS IN ‘RAVNICA: INQUISITION’

WizKids will release a social deduction game set in the Magic: The Gathering plane of Ravnica, Ravnica: Inquisition, in June.

Players can join the Gatewatch or pledge their loyalty to Nicol Bolas, then attempt to uncover the Agents of Bolas who are hiding amongst them. Players elect leaders for each of the 5 colors, but only players whose guild’s color pair contain the color may be voted for. Each color leader has a special power they can use to further their goals, so players must be careful who they vote for. After all five colors have leaders, they vote to eliminate 1 player. This continues until the dust settled, and players reveal their roles. If all the Agents of Bolas are eliminated, the Gatewatch wins.

The box contains 10 role cards, 10 guild cards, 5 color leader cards, 5 targeting cards, ablaze marker, ultimate price marker, notepad, pencil, and a rulebook. The game is for 5 – 10 players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 15 -30 minutes. MSRP is $14.99.
