From the Vault: Lore Spoilers

So this year’s From the Vault lineup is not the greatest, however still much better than say, Annihilation. You have a few Legacy mainstays such as Umezawa’s Jitte, Dark Depths and Cabal Ritual. A few flavor cards and mostly Commander stuff. I was really anticipating a planeswalker in here, more specifically Karn Liberated (since he got his spark while defeating the Phyrexians on Dominaria). Would have probably been a little cooler than having Obliterate for that era of the Magic: the Gathering storyline. The Marit Lage token is pretty sweet and thankfully doesn’t count in the fifteen cards of the box set.

Three alternate art cards is a little low, but I think that’s about average for the course for a FTV set. Conflux is a really sweet tutor for those 5 color Commander decks that even saw some fringe play in a Dream Halls Legacy deck a few years back. Definitely one of the less annoying tutors since it costs so darn much to cast in the first place. Getting this product at MSRP is still going to be a bit of a challenge, but I still suspect the price to be somewhat lower than previous over-hyped From the Vault sets.
